Activity in Action:

Using a model to explore comparative size and scale of the Sun, Earth, and Moon.

Mathematical concepts such as "greater than," "less than," and "equal to" can be easily incorporated into this lesson.

Students from the Academy of the Sacred Heart 5th/6th grade Science and Math class take the model a step further and incorporate the layers of the Sun to give a more complete picture of our nearest star. This excellent work comes to us from Ms. Clack’s class in Grand Coteau, Louisiana.
